Pitt-Johnstown’s Youth Summer Camps will provide an engaging summer time experience for both elementary and middle school students. Our Summer Camps will energize students and help to develop their coding, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and digital literacy skills, knowledge and interest.
The 2018 schedule will be released on April 1.
Students will experience hands-on projects activities that include creating, building, exploring, problem solving and working in teams. Younger students will learn new concepts through exploration, discover and creativity, while the older students will experience how to use technology to create artifacts and solve problems. All students will receive a camp T-shirt
Juniors Day Camp (Grades 2 – 5) - Campers will spend five exciting days as they explore, discover and create to a fun theme and with engaging and creative hands-on projects and activities. Camps will include themes such as Minecraft, Amusement Parks, Super Heroes and Robotics. Activities will vary by camp. Many of our camps will use LEGOs, computers and other technology for the hands-on activities. Refer to the Summer Camp schedule and detailed descriptions for more information.
Exploring STEM Day Camp (Grades 4 – 8) - These camps will give students a variety of opportunities to explore how STEM is at work in the world around them. Each camp will feature a popular theme to interest campers and will use technology to explore, create and/or solve problems. Camp themes will include Digital Forensics, Modding Minecraft, Robotics, App Development/Video Games, Music & Technology, and Stop Motion Movie Making.
Careers Day Camp (Grades 6 – 8) – Campers will investigate different STEM Careers throughout the week such as Computer Science/Coding, Cyber Security, Music & Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and more.
