The Pitt-Johnstown IceCats hockey team is a competitive member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the College Hockey East (CHE). The organization promotes teamwork and develops leadership skills.
The team has won the CHE Championship in 2003, 2005 and 2014; and also qualified for the ACHA National tournament 2005, 2006, and 2014. The season begins in early September, with tryouts beginning the week after Labor Day, and finishes with the National Tournament held in March.
The IceCats hold three on-ice practices and one off-ice conditioning practice per week throughout the 30-game regular season. Home games and practices are held at the Cambria County War Memorial. Students must maintain a minimum QPA of 2.0 and be enrolled full-time to be on the active roster.
