Pitt-Johnstown is close enough to Washington, DC, and New York City that the university provides sight-seeing trips at minimal costs to students. There are about 21,000 people who live in and around Johnstown. There are three main transportation methods including the local public bus system, our regional airport, and an Amtrak train station. University provides shuttle transportation to a local shopping plaza on a daily basis. The area has wide temperature changes in different seasons. August is the hottest month when the temperature can reach 32 C. January is the coldest month when the temperature can reach -8 C.
