Academic Scholarships: Incoming Freshmen

Pitt-Johnstown Freshman Scholarship Guidelines

Incoming Pitt-Johnstown students are eligible for academic scholarships.

Requirements for automatic consideration during academic review process:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • SAT score of 1100 or greater (ACT score 22)

Scholarships are per-year amounts and will renew each year as long as a GPA of 3.0 or greater is maintained. If a student's GPA falls below 3.0, they will have one semester to raise it back to 3.0 or greater.

  • Presidential: $4,000 to  $5,000 + $500 housing*
  • Real World Leadership: $3,500 + $500 housing*
  • Real World Achievement: $2,000 to $3,000 + $500 housing*

*$500 housing scholarships are only awarded to students planning to live on campus.

Each University of Pittsburgh campus awards its own academic scholarships, which do not transfer to other campuses.

In addition to the academic scholarships, students are advised to complete and submit information about FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) any time after October 1 of your senior year.
