Event Description:

The Pitt-Johnstown Concert Choirs will perform in their annual spring concert, April 15, 2018, at Westmont Presbyterian Church.

The Chamber Choir will perform four pieces including Jay Althouse's arrangement of Someone to Watch Over Me. Soloists for the piece include Madison Eppley, Dandre Ball, and Erin Whyte.  The Chamber Choir will also sing Who Is Sylvia, a setting of William Shakespeare's poem from The Two Gentlemen of Verona. The setting is composed by jazz pianist George Shearing.

The Concert Choir will sing three pieces including Moses Hogan's My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord.

The choirs will then combine with singers from the Westmont Presbyterian Church Choir and the Beesontown Singers and perform Gabriel Faure's Requiem with organ and chamber orchestra.  Faure's Requiem is one of the most beautiful choral/orchestral works and continues to be performed with great regularity all over the world.

Westmont Presbyterian Church is located at 601 Luzerne St.  The concert is free and open to the public.
