The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Engineering Division is housed in the newly renovated John P. Murtha Engineering and Science Building.
The work is part of a $23 million project that included the construction of the John P. Murtha Center for Public Service and National Competitiveness.
In addition, the plan covers renovations to laboratories in Krebs Hall.
State-of-the-art labs, classrooms, study areas, lecture hall, and the exterior are part of the Engineering and Science Building renovation.
Mr. Murtha served 36 years in the U.S. House of Representatives until his death in 2010. He was also the first-ever recipient of Pitt-Johnstown’s Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes an alumnus for individual achievements, leadership, service to community, and loyalty to the alma mater.
