The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown website,, is best viewed in Google Chrome or Firefox web browsers.

The site is also friendly to Internet Explorer; however, one of the key attributes – a customization experience for future students, current students, faculty and staff, parents, and alumni and friends in the community – sometimes is not functional in Internet Explorer version 11.

If you are using Internet Explorer and are experiencing difficulty, this can be addressed by clearing your cache. This can be done by clicking on Tools (the gear icon in the upper-right corner), Internet Options, Delete History, then click OK.

If the difficulty persists, try this:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click on Tools (the gear symbol in the upper right)
  3. Click on Internet Options
  4. Click on the Advanced tab
    1. Click on the Restore Advanced Settings bar
    2. Click on the Reset bar
    3. A window will pop up – check the box that says Delete Personal Settings
    4. Close the popup window
    5. Close the browser
    6. When you reopen Internet Explorer, a setup window will open. Click on Use recommended security and compatibility settings
    7. Click OK

Once completed, the site should be fully functional again.
