Ex-Biology Instructor Traister Dies at 71

John Wesley Traister, 71, passed away Sept. 13, 2017, at the age of 71.

“Wes” Traister was a biology instructor at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown for about 30 years, retiring several years ago. He was responsible for developing the General Biology lab curriculum used for many years.

“Some of us had the privilege of working with him for many years; others benefitted from his instruction as students,” said Dr. Stephen Kilpatrick, Pitt-Johnstown’s Biology Department Coordinator.

Mr Traister was born in Kittanning, PA, in 1946.
